Communication Assessments
Communication assessments are a vital tool in Speech Pathology, used to evaluate an individual's speech, language, and overall communication abilities. These assessments help identify any areas of difficulty and inform treatment planning.
Articulation
Articulation, a key aspect of speech production, refers to the clear and precise pronunciation of speech sounds in Speech Pathology. It involves the proper use of the lips, tongue, and jaw to produce speech sounds correctly and effectively.
Receptive & Expressive Language
Receptive and expressive language are both key aspects of communication in Speech Pathology. Receptive language refers to understanding spoken or written language, while expressive language refers to the ability to express oneself through spoken or written language.
Social Communication
Social Communication refers to the use of verbal and nonverbal language in social interactions and it is a key area in speech pathology. Speech pathologists assess and intervene in difficulties related to social communication, such as social interactions, pragmatics, and conversation skills.
Literacy
Literacy is the ability to read and write and it is an important area in Speech Pathology. Speech pathologists assess and intervene in difficulties related to reading, writing, spelling and other literacy skills.
Autism Services
Autism services are specialized interventions provided by speech pathologists for Autistic individuals, utilising a neuroaffirmative approach that encourages self-advocacy and self-acceptance. Our intervention focuses on working with the individual and their families to build their self-awareness, a positive self-identity, and a means in which they can self-advocate and participate in all aspects of life.
